In
light of the environmental crisis that plagues our planet, PT Seafood
Inspection Laboratory recognizes the importance of taking an active role in
protecting the Earth. One manifestation of this concern is through the CSR
(Corporate Social Responsibility) movement themed “Save the Earth, Save
the Generation”. In this activity, we planted 1050 mangrove trees. The
event took place on March 15, 2024, at the Mangrove Arboretum Park, Pedungan,
South Denpasar, Denpasar City.
The
activity was attended by 25 employees of PT Seafood Inspection Laboratory and
10 members of the Mangrove Ranger community. The enthusiasm of the participants
was evident from the opening ceremony.
The
speeches from representatives of both parties emphasized the importance of
mangrove forests in maintaining the sustainability of coastal ecosystems.
Moreover, mangroves also play a role in absorbing carbon emissions and
providing a habitat for various types of marine life and other creatures.
The
Field Coordinator of Mangrove Ranger Indonesia explains that the planting
system used in the Mangrove Arboretum Park utilizes a technique called spaced
clump planting using a guludan medium. Simply put, mangroves are planted within
a single box, and the number of mangroves in each box depends on the size of
the box (guludan).
This
CSR mangrove planting activity with Mangrove Ranger is just a first step. PT
Seafood Inspection Laboratory is committed to continuously implementing similar
programs in a sustainable manner. It is hoped that this activity can inspire
many parties to participate in contributing to the preservation of the
environment.
Let
us all work together to create a better future. A sustainable Earth, a healthy
environment, and a resilient future generation will be created through the care
and real action of us all. Planting hope through mangrove trees is one of the
initial steps we can take.
