World Water Day 2022 – Clean Water for Kids

World Water Day is a day celebrated as an effort to attract the public about the importance of clean water for life.  Water is a fundamental human need. We use water for many purposes, such as drinking, cooking, washing, etc. Although there is an abundance of water available, not all of it is safe to consume. Clean drinking water is essential for us to maintain our physical health, stay hydrated, and prevent illnesses like diarrhoea, intestinal parasites and so forth.

Water is the core of sustainable development. Based on United Nation there are 2.2 billion people lack access to safely managed drinking water. 40 percent of the world’s population lacks clean water facilities. Based on Law No. 17 of 2019 on Water Resources, the conservation of water resources can be done by:

  • Protection and preservation of water resources
  • Water Preservation
  • Water quality management
  • Water pollution control

Since 2011, PT. Seafood Inspection Laboratory, PT. Asindo Minasegara, and BHLN Technical Services, LLC, continuously provides access to clean water as one of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs by installing the RO (Reverse Osmosis) water filtration system to orphanages across Bali, testing the water and maintaining the system regularly. This program impacts approximately 400 children between ages of 4 to 18.

PT Seafood Inspection Laboratory, PT. Asindo Minasegara, and BHLN Technical Services, LLC, will carry on expanding this program over the coming year to support children and local communities. As a wise man once said, one good action repeated a million times creates global changes. Happy World Water Day!
